What an incredible accomplishment for the organisation and all Rupununi poultry farmers to have a producer-owned hatchery in Lethem! 

The RLPA has embarked on several activities with assistance and direction from The Consultancy Group to stimulate both the demand and supply of poultry meat and eggs with support from the Greater Guyana Initiative (ExxonMobil Guyana, Hess Corporation) for the “Egg Sandwich Project” of which the establishment of a local hatchery is a significant milestone of this project.

The establishment of an RLPA-run broiler, layer, and dual-purpose breeds hatchery in Lethem will now provide Rupununi poultry producers with a consistent supply of vaccinated chicks at a lower cost.

With several village leaders and regional representatives attending the opening of this hatchery in Lethem, the RLPA celebrated a dream come to reality!
